Milind Raikar
Milind Raikar is a renowned violinist in the Hindustani tradition of Indian Classical Music. He is founder of Raikar Academy of Violin in Mumbai, India. At a very young age he began to study Hindustani music with his father, the late Atchut Raikar—a musician, vocalist, playwright and actor. Afterwards, he started playing violin in Western style, and got trained at the Trinity College of London. But inspired by his father, he came home to Hindustani music, and went on to train with Pandit B. S. Math, Pandit Vasantrao Kadnekar, and Padmashree Pandit D. K. Datar. Later, he became a disciple, and also a concert accompanist of Padma Vibhushan Kishori Amonkar. He is noted for making the violin truly sing like the human voice.
Hemant Ekbote
Hemant Ekbote is an accomplished tabla player based in Irvine, CA, where he runs the Divine School of Music. He was trained under the renowned Maestro Pandit Sudhir Kumar Saxena, master of the Ajrada Delhi Gharana. He received his master’s degree in Music from M. S. University in Baroda, and also taught there as a faculty member. He has provided accompaniment to many eminent artists including Pandit Jasraj, Laxmi Shankar, Ustad Salamat Ali Khan, Shujaat Husain Khan and Hridayanath Mangeshkar.
