Kaavya Varma

Kaavya Varma holds an M.Phil. in Environment, Society and Development from the University of Cambridge and a B.Sc. in Environmental Policy from the London School of Economics. She started her career with The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity (TEEB) study, a global initiative focused on “making nature’s values visible;” where she was part of the core scientific team. She has also led the Green Indian States Trust’s (GIST) Research and Governments Advisory Division, which implements United Nations projects and works with Ministeries. Presently based in New Delhi, she is the founder of Jungle Organics aimed at forest conservation and protecting wildlife while allowing small farmers to increase their incomes. She will share the lessons in co-existence and interdependence that can be learned from wilderness farmers and the endangered species.
