THE DEMOCRACY INSTITUTE INAUGURAL SYMPOSIUM

The Ahimsa Center held its inaugural The Democracy Institute symposium on March 10-11, 2023, at the Kellogg West Conference Center on “After Life: Identity and Indifference in the Time of Planetary Peril.” 12 internationally renowned speakers from across disciplines in STEM, social sciences, and the Humanities participated in conversations on the politics of “free speech inequality,” epistemic justice, and democratic hope. Co-sponsored by the Institute for New Global Politics, Palo Alto.  

The Democracy Institute prepares student-scholars to think globally and to address constitutional and democratic questions that shape the human story.

Beginning Fall 2024, The Democracy Institute is an independent center for curriculum innovation and interdisciplinary research in CLASS, dedicated to questions democratic and constitutional. We continue to develop synergies between the Institute and Ahimsa Center.
