Culture through Literature and Food

Chinese literature is used to facilitate a better understanding of Chinese culture and religions.

For example; folktales, poetry, and children's stories illusrate the values of the Chinese philosophy of Daoism. The materials also include a class literature project in which students explore folktales and poetry spanning the fall of Han to the Ching dynasties and then share their learning in the form of a newspaper.

Finally, you will receive a food lesson with a "lab" activity that your students will enjoy-especially if you do it just before lunch!
