No-Cost and Low-Cost Services Offered
Student Health Services provides Cal Poly Pomona students with affordable, accessible and high-quality health care. Most services are covered by the mandatory student health fee already included in tuition payments.
Health Educators and Peer Health Educators provide Cal Poly Pomona students with health education to prevent the development of chronic conditions. Wellness Services provides resources and programs dedicated to various health topics including but not limited to nutrition, sexual health, mental health, physical activity, sleep and stress management.
Types of Services
- Unlimited appointments made online, by phone, or in person with licensed & board-certified clinicians, nurses and physician assistants
- Digital X-Rays
- Travel consultations
- Well-patient physicals (1 per academic enrollment; cost of some lab work may be extra)
- Minor surgical procedures (removal of warts, cysts, moles; suturing; repair of ingrown toenail, etc.)
- Well-Womxn Exam
- Wraps, braces, slings, crutches, etc.
- Generic Tylenol through the pharmacy
- Flu Shots
- Tdap vaccine
- Tuberculosis screening
- Common STI/STD testing (Gonorrhea, syphilis, Chlamydia)
- Medication Abortion (call 909-869-4000 to make an appointment)
- Prescription medications can be filled at our on-site pharmacy. By request, prescriptions can be printed and given to patients to be filled at an outside pharmacy at their own expense.
- Common non-prescription drug store items through the pharmacy
- Biopsied tissue
- Laboratory tests, including Pap and Cholesterol, sent to an outside lab
- Copies of medical records
- Wraps, braces, slings, crutches
- HIV Testing (expect on Tuesdays)
- All immunizations except Tdap
- Individual appointments with Health Educators and Peer Health Educators (PHEs) for nutrition, exercise, stress management, quit smoking, sexual health, birth control options, safe alcohol, marijuana or other drug use
- Free, Confidential HIV testing on Tuesdays during Fall and Spring semesters
- Free latex and non-latex barriers (including internal and external condoms) and lubrication
- A variety of health and hygiene products (toothbrushes, reusable water bottles, hand sanitizer)
- Flu Kits
- Quit Smoking Kits and Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) such as nicotine patches and gum
- Educational talks on: Nutrition, Stress Management, Sexual Health, Alcohol and other drug use, Meditation, Mental Health, Student Health and Wellness Services
