Therapy Dog Apollo

Description: Are you feeling stressed from wrapping up finals events or working Commencement all weekend? Staff Council has your back with Therapy Dog Apollo, a beautiful and intelligent Border Collie. Stop by and pet him at the University Library's second-floor Bronco Community Zone. You don't need to register to attend the event, by registering, you get a reminder email about the event 1 week before the event and the Monday before.

Arabian Horse Center - Horse Show

Description: Arabian Horse Center is putting on a version of their Sunday Show for Staff Appreciation Week - A tradition started by W.K. Kellogg in 1926, the Sunday Show features Cal Poly Pomona students riding Arabians in different disciplines from Native Costume to Liberty. Additionally, the trick horse act is always a crowd favorite. Training and handling are accomplished entirely by the W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center's students and staff, and the show program is designed to demonstrate the versatility and fine qualities of the Arabian breed.

Vegetative Propagation of Succulents 101
- NOTE: This workshop has a $5.00 fee that will be collected at the start of the workshop.

Description: René Hernández will talk about different methods on succulent vegetative propagation to produce more plants. Division, cuttings, deheading, and growing from leaves will be covered as well other tips on growing succulents. Host will also be selling succulents after class.

Farm Store Tour and Nursery Experience

Description: All participants will have a chance to try some of CPP Farm Store’s favorite products and fruit. This will be followed with a plant talk, and potting demo and workshop. Everyone in attendance will get to take home a plant!

Charm Bracelet Making Workshop

Description: Design and make your own unique charm bracelet, the Cal Poly way, learn by doing. The host will accept cash, Venmo or Zelle at the beginning of the workshop. Host will also be selling demo charm bracelets made beforehand.

Chocolate Making

Description: We will make all the chocolate from scratch and have participants dip strawberries or pretzels (or both!) into the freshly made chocolate. They can either take them home or eat them during the workshop.

Egg Roll Making Workshop

Description: This is an opportunity for everyone to learn how to roll and fry an eggroll (meat-only). You will be able to place meat on an eggroll wrapper and learn to roll and fry eggrolls. Meat and eggroll wrappers will be provided, and participants will have a chance to eat some tasty meat eggrolls!

Mario Kart Tournament

Description: For Staff Appreciation Week 2024, join your fellow staff for a Mario Kart Tournament on the Nintendo Switch at the University Library's 2nd-floor Bronco Community Zone. If you want to be part of the tournament, register for a tournament ticket. If you want to watch the tournament, or join if there are not enough participants, register for a standby ticket. Kellogg House Tour

Description: Nestled among the lush landscape and blanketed by fig trees, sits the Kellogg House. Constructed in 1926, this spacious ranch-style estate exudes historical charm and offers mesmerizing views. Foundation Enterprises are opening the doors and offering the opportunity to walk the home of cereal magnet Will Kellogg. On this guided tour, you will learn the rich history of the house and experience firsthand what makes the Kellogg House so special to our campus.

Stretching Class

Description: A full self-massage class that helps soothe tight, sore areas (known as “trigger points”) to help speed up the recovery process and relieve tension. Please wear athletic attire.
On the day of the classes, walk-ins will be accepted if spots are available.
