Faculty Fellows 2021-2022

Four faculty fellows have been appointed to support the areas of academics, faculty, and research during the 2021-2022 academic year.

Stephen Osborn
Academic Programs

Osborn, professor in the geological sciences department, has served on the academic senate, the university GE assessment committee, and the new university program review committee, as well as has completed the CSU analytics certificate program. Osborn will work with departments to develop curricula, manage assessment activities, and assist with program review, in addition to serving as an ex-officio member of the college curriculum and assessment committees.

Homeyra Sadaghiani
Faculty Recruitment and Development

Sadaghiani, professor in the physics and astronomy department, has served on the academic senate, on RTP committees at the department/college/university level, and as Provost Fellow for New Faculty Success. Sadaghiani will assist with the faculty recruitment process, oversee faculty professional development activities, manage the lecturer evaluation process, and liaise with Faculty Affairs to help provide guidance to departments.

Erin Questad
Research in the Life Sciences

Questad, associate professor in the biological sciences department, leads a research program in ecosystem restoration with a diverse network of collaborators that has been supported by more than $2M in funding from federal, state, and private sources. She was recognized with the CoS Ralph W. Ames Distinguished Research Award in 2020.

Matthew Povich
Research in the Physical/Mathematical Sciences

Povich, associate professor in the physics and astronomy department, studies star formation in galactic giant molecular clouds, acts as project lead scientist for the Milky Way project, and received the first NSF CAREER grant at CPP. He was recognized with the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Scholarly and Creative Activities in 2020.

Both Questad and Povich will work with the dean and ORSP to help faculty develop grant proposals, foster collaborative grant activities, manage grant funds, liaise with STEM-based CSU research consortia, and serve as leads for major initiatives.
