General Chemistry

The Polytechnic Approach

Dive deeper into the classic physical chemistry you’ve experienced in school and expand your horizons into quantum physical chemistry. Learn the theory behind identifying compounds in organic chemistry, then identify those compounds in the lab. Become part of a research lab with a faculty mentor and publish your findings in academic journals. Here, you not only learn theory, you apply it and gain practical experience to prepare you for a career in countless fields.

Courses

The General option is the most flexible program. In consultation with an advisor, up to 12 units of electives can be chosen from outside of chemistry to create a truly interdisciplinary program of study. This degree option allows students who have an ADT in Chemistry to earn their degree in 60 semester units upon transfer.
