About the Program
Contribute to the health and protection of populations and the environment in one of the fastest-growing fields in engineering. Prepare for lifesaving work in developing systems for water quality, pollution reduction, energy and sustainability. Study air and water quality, biology, geology, water supply systems and more, and lay the foundation for your dream career.
The Polytechnic Approach
Become a protector of people and the environment as you develop strategies to remedy contaminated sites, manage drinking water systems and reduce waste streams. Experiment and test the strength of engineering materials. Apply the principles of fluid mechanics and hydraulics to real-world scenarios. Here, you turn theory into practice and prepare for the exciting challenges you will solve in your career.
Career Outcomes
Courses
The environmental engineering option includes a range of civil engineering coursework, with an emphasis on air and water quality, biology, and water supply systems. This option is for you if you are interested in reducing pollution through remediation strategies, designing drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater systems, and reducing waste streams and energy use.
