Alain Tran jumped on Professor Hayri Ozkaya’s suggestion to intern with Bronco Startup Challenge, the business pitch competition, which led to one of Alain’s most influential campus experience. He helped the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation execute a major university event for student and alumni entrepreneurs by mastering Cascade web development and marketing. When contestants needed resources to fulfill their ideas, Alain found solutions for them. His pursuit of excellence in business administration demonstrates his ability to succeed and enhance financial industries. “Everyone is a business person regardless of their careers,” he says, and his goal is to become a physician. In community college, Allain became the first in his family to earn a postsecondary degree and discovered an interest in medicine by volunteering with Kaiser Permanente. “Having a degree spawns new opportunities. Whether it is an opportunity for graduate school or a job at Google, there are many if you reach for them,” he says. After graduation and medical school, Alain envisions himself building healthcare in developing countries.
