Michael Perez
Annette F. and Morton J. Blumner President's Scholar
Major: Criminology
College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences
Activities: Kellogg Honors College student; Model United Nations member; Pre-Law Club Vice President
One Word to Describe CPP: “Friendly. From the staff, faculty and students I have met, people are happy to meet and help you.”
Michael is dedicated to modeling service for his community, always seeking ways to help others in any way he can. Prior to Cal Poly Pomona, he credits his involvement in Boy Scouts of America, where he was an Eagle Scout, for building his skills in leadership, public speaking, teamwork and communication. Drawn to the university’s polytechnic focus and diversity, he has furthered his goal to eventually working in law enforcement by working as a campus community service officer responsible for housing patrols, Disability Resource Center driving assistance, and assisting at the University Police Department’s front desk. Last year, as a member of the CPP Model United Nations team, Michael’s team won the Outstanding Delegation title conference and Outstanding Position Paper in New York City representing the Central African country of Gabon. Saying that he is “motivated by support my family has given me,” he plans to attend law school after graduation.
