Katelyn’s interest in guiding people to reach their full potential has been shaped by volunteerism in the CPP
community. Her membership in the Social Servies and Practitioner Alliance Club, including a collaboration
with the Criminology Club to host a donation drive for the LOV Movement, which serve people within the Skid Row community. She and other members of Alpha Xi Delta hosted a toy drive for kids in the foster care system under the Stand Up For Kids Foundation, and in her role with the ASI Bronco Events & Activities Team, she helped lead the Homelessness and Hunger initiative to give students resources for basic needs and food. “I chose this major because it allows me to make a meaningful impact on individuals’ lives by providing resources and encouragement needed to succeed.” Especially meaningful to Katelyn has been the kinship of her sisters in Alpha Xi Delta and her family who “supported me in overcoming my fears and hestitations since choosing Cal Poly Pomona as my new home. The CPP community has profoundly shaped me, instilling confidence and molding me into a professional leader.” She plans to explore careers focused on advocacy.
