President Coley's Campus Address
To the campus community,
As you wrap up finals and gear up for the holidays, I ask you to keep semester conversion preparation in mind. The better prepared you are now, the easier it will be to make the transition next fall. A great deal of work has already gone into the conversion process, and I want to thank faculty and staff for all of the heavy lifting they have done. I also want to thank the students for proactively mapping out their futures, using the tools available to them, and seeking advising.
We have many other goals and ambitions in the months ahead. Some are longer term, such as our strategic planning process, while others are much more immediate. Students at the Rose Float Lab are once again busy preparing a float for New Year’s Day. I encourage you to cheer on “Dreams Take Flight” as it moves down Colorado Boulevard. Next year, we will break ground on a new lab that will provide much improved amenities for our students.
Starting with this message, I want to recognize and give you an opportunity to get to know some of the people who make Cal Poly Pomona such a great place. “Big Mike” Esquivel is a fixture in Athletics, and he has been a difference-maker for decades. I encourage you to check out his story in the Bronco Bravo portion of my video message.
I also want to take this opportunity to wish you a happy holiday season and a successful new year. Thank you for your contributions to our Cal Poly Pomona community.
President Soraya M. Coley
