Policy Statement:
It is the policy of CPP that all of its activities related to the use of vertebrate animals will be conducted in accordance with the US Public Health Service Policy on Humane Care and Use of Animals and the Federal Laboratory Animal Welfare Act (7 U.S.C. ßß 2131 et. seq.). Additionally, all teaching and research uses of vertebrate animals must be approved by the Animal Care and Use Committee. The only exclusion to this policy is the teaching of "industry standards" for the care and use of farm animals (including rabbits, horses, poultry, swine, goats, cattle and sheep) for which the "industry standards" of care and use are defined in the "Guide For The Care and Use of Agricultural Animals in Agricultural Research and Teaching (pdf)."
