Student Conduct Code
Being successful in college is more than just getting good grades. In order to meet Cal Poly Pomona's expectations, you need to be a good citizen, be civil and respectful, and stay healthy. Put forth your best effort to go to class, engage in responsible behavior that reflects well on you and Cal Poly Pomona, contribute positively to campus life, and get involved in your new community.
The Student Conduct Code details the University’s expectations for student behavior and knowing the code can minimize your chance of engaging in a violation.
Office of Equity and Compliance
Title IX
Federal and State laws and the California State University's policies prohibit discrimination based on gender or sex in all education programs and activities operated by the University, both on and off campus. All members of the campus community regardless of their gender or gender identity are protected from sex discrimination, which includes sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. Cal Poly Pomona supports and encourages prompt reporting of sexual misconduct. Reporting provides resources to victims and contributes to keeping the campus safe.
The University will respond promptly and effectively to reports of sexual harassment and sexual violence and will take appropriate action to prevent, to correct, and when necessary, to discipline behavior that violates University policy.
Free Speech
Free speech is powerful – it can inspire, motivate and lead to change and innovation. Depending on the message, it can also be extremely hurtful and hateful. Our speech could potentially have a negative effect on those around us, even though we have the right to free expression and even if we meant well with our intentions. With that, campus community members are encouraged to reflect on the impact their message can have.
CPP is committed to the freedom of expression and committed to the fostering of inclusive and welcoming learning environments on campus.
