Building 193: Chilled Water Center Plant

East of Health Services (Bldg. 46).

Through energy savings, Facilities Management was able to build its first chilled water central plant with a thermal energy storage unit for the University.
The new plant provides the necessary chilled water to cool 18 major buildings located in the core of the campus.
The central plant reliably and efficiently produces chilled water, reduces noise pollution in each connected building, is projected to reduce electrical consumption by 18% and, by operating in off-peak hours, further reduces the campus' electric utility costs.
