Teresa Rodriguez graduated from Cal Poly Pomona in 2018 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. While at Cal Poly Pomona, Teresa was a Student Assistant for the College of Engineering as part of CPP Women in Engineering (now WISE) and Project Lead the Way (PLTW). In addition, she participated in the development of the Femineer program which serves as a training program for k-12 teachers focused on robotics, coding, and more. Teresa also received the Femineer Graphics Creator 2019 award for her design of the Femineer Logo amongst others during her time at CPP.
Now, Teresa is a Lead Project Engineer at Tilden-Coil Constructors, she’s been with the company for 5 years. For the past 3-years, she’s been based at the Mt. San Antonio College improvements projects where she has assisted with the completion of several projects including: the MSAC Heritage Hall legacy museum, the Gym and Aquatics facilities inclusive of an Olympic size pool with team locker rooms, physical therapy labs, wrestling training room, gymnasium with indoor track and indoor basketball courts, she also assisted with the closeout of their new Student Center and is currently lead on the construction of the new Instructional Office and Welcome Center. Once completed, Teresa will transition into the new Technology and Health Building which is a 273,000-sf facility that includes specialized laboratory space, aircraft mechanical workshops, general classrooms, offices, and academic support space. This new addition will not only be the largest building on campus, but the largest on any California community college campus!
Through her continued participation in CPP WiSE and MEP, Teresa hopes to encourage more women to take an active part in the growing construction industry. In her new role as Vice Chair, Teresa’s focus will be to further develop events, trainings, and workshops that will facilitate our students’ transition into the professional world upon graduation.
