Chemical Information for the Workplace
Safety Data Sheets (SDS's) are provided by manufacturers of various chemical materials and are now made in a standard format that is uniformly reported regardless of a material's origin or manufacturer. SDS's consist of 16 different standardized sections which describe the material in sufficient detail to protect against material exposure and provide guidance for emergency response situations.
Note: SDS's must be capable of being produced when asked as a requirement for regulatory compliance. Failure to produce an SDS when prompted by EH&S or a regulatory agency can result in regulatory enforcement action(s).
