Admissions Requirements
Admissions Requirements
Applicants who do have an undergraduate degree in interior design, architecture, or similar design-related field may be eligible to apply directly to the Master’s level. Before applying to the program, a transcript evaluation by our Program Advisor is required. Unofficial transcripts can be used for this review process.
Admissions into the Online Master of Interior Architecture degree program requires:
- Preliminary consultation prior to applying is required. Applicants begin by contacting the Graduate Coordinator in the Department of Architecture, who provides an initial review of transcripts, background, and portfolio of original work to determine eligibility to apply. Email: Professor Irma Ramirez, ieramirez@cpp.edu
- A four-year accredited bachelor’s degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA in any field.
- Foundation level interior design competence typically achieved in 50-60 semester units of coursework in interior design and related design fields; examples are coursework from bachelor’s degrees, community colleges or certificate programs. Foundation level competence is evaluated through a preliminary review of transcripts and portfolio of work. Applicants who have earned an accredited Bachelor of Interior Design or Bachelor of Architecture may satisfy this pre-requisite. Contact Graduate Coordinator for consult.

- All applicants, regardless of citizenship, who have not completed at least three years of full-time enrollment at the secondary level where English is the principal language of instruction are required to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score
- The score cannot be more than two years old. Upload a copy of your score in the “Program Materials” section of the application. You must contact ETS to have your official TOEFL score released. Paper copies are not accepted. The TOEFL code needed from ETS to send your score to Cal Poly Pomona is 4082.
