Information Security Global Access Academic Certificate

Now accepting applications for Fall 2025

 

Program Overview: 

The College of Business Administration, Singelyn Graduate School of Business, and the College of Professional and Global Education are proud to offer the Information Security Global Access Academic Certificate (ISGAC).

The Information Security Certificate Program not only provides essential cybersecurity knowledge but also primes students for admission to graduate programs in Cybersecurity or Information Security in our university and at other institutions. It's particularly beneficial for individuals aspiring to enter the field or pursue advanced studies in Cybersecurity, especially if their undergraduate degrees are not directly related.

The program length is one year and it includes 5 courses (15 credit units). Students are expected to enroll in 3 courses in the first semester and 2 courses in the second semester.

Admission Criteria

  • 5 or higher GPA
  • C or better in a course of Probability or Statistics
  • Completed a course in Computer Literacy
  • Completed at least 2 years of undergraduate coursework

 


Certificate Program Only

- This certificate is not a graduate (master's) program
- Financial aid, including grants and loans, is not available
- Veterans benefits, such as the GI Bill, are not available
- Prepares students for admission to graduate programs in cybersecurity but does not guarantee admission

Transfer Credits

Students may transfer up to 3 credits towards their certificate upon obtaining approval from the academic advisor of the program. The completed course must have the equivalent course content/title.  For the transferred credits, the grade for the course should be C or better.

Completion Requirements

To obtain the certificate, participating students must earn a 2.0 GPA or above in all required courses.

Prerequisites for MSIS Program

Students, who complete this certificate program, will meet the prerequisites for the Master of Science in Information Security (MSIS) Program at our university.
