City of Pomona’s Re-Paving of Valley Boulevard Expected to Cause Significant Delays Starting on Wednesday, Sept. 8
Summary of Disruption: The contractor for the City of Pomona’s Valley Boulevard rehabilitation project will re-pave north of Temple Avenue to Humane Way on Wednesday, Sept. 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Thursday, Sept. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The setting of traffic lights to flashing red for re-paving and the reduced number of lanes at the intersection of Temple Avenue and Valley Boulevard are expected to cause significant delays on those streets.
Reason for Disruption: Major street rehabilitation along Valley Boulevard is required to repair potholes, improve pavement, and accommodate new protected bike lanes on the east side of Valley Boulevard.
How does this affect me? Use detours such as the Grand Avenue exit from State Route 60 (Pomona Freeway) to Temple Avenue or the Fairplex Drive exit from the Interstate 10 (San Bernardino Freeway) to get to campus. All-way traffic at the intersection of Temple Avenue and Valley Boulevard will be maintained during the rehabilitation project.
What do I need to do? Expect major delays and proceed with caution when approaching the work zones. Please share this information with others who may have not received this message.
