Audit Firm to Conduct Space Surveys in Five Buildings Starting on Wednesday, Oct. 12

Summary of disruption: To help achieve the university’s commitment to student success, a space management audit will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 12 in five buildings. Technicians from the space audit firm MetaBIM are scheduled to work weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The initial phase of the project is expected to be completed by Tuesday, Nov. 22.

The five buildings and timelines are:

Building One

Wednesday, Oct. 12 to Wednesday, Oct. 26

CLA Classroom (Building 98C)

Thursday, Oct. 27 to Monday, Oct. 31

University Office Building (Building 94)

Tuesday, Nov. 1 to Friday, Nov. 4

Campus Center (Building 97)

Monday, Nov. 7 to Monday, Nov. 14

Art Department and Engineering Annex (Building 13)

Tuesday, Nov. 15 to Tuesday, Nov. 22

Reason for disruption: The findings of the space audits will help the university maintain an accurate inventory of campus space that is vital to obtaining resources during the CSU capital planning process.

How does this affect me? Technicians will use digital imaging and measuring equipment inside classrooms, offices and workspaces. The work will be conducted around classroom schedules to avoid interruptions. Technicians will not enter occupied classrooms.   

What do I need to do? Offices and workspaces may need to be vacated briefly to allow crews to conduct digital imaging and measurements. Please share this information with others in the buildings who may have not received this message.
