Six Buildings to Undergo Mandated Fire Alarm System Testing on Friday, July 26
Summary of disruption: State-mandated testing of fire alarm systems at six buildings will commence at 5 a.m. on Friday, July 26. Testing is expected to be completed by 8 a.m.
The affected buildings are:
I-Poly High School (Building 85)
Interim Design Center (Buildings 89, 89A and 89B)
Parking Structure 1 (Building 106)
Lyle Center for Regenerative Studies (Building 209)
Reason for disruption: Comply with state laws and ensure that fire alarms and strobe lights are working properly.
How does this affect me? Horns and strobe lights may be activated during the initial early morning testing, then alarms will be tested on silent mode. HVAC systems may be temporarily shut down during tests. Elevators will not be affected.
What do I need to do? If fire alarms are heard after the scheduled morning testing period, evacuate the building. Please share this information with others in the buildings who may have not received this message.
