Fire Alarm Testing Set for 12 Buildings on Saturday, March 7
Summary of disruption: Annual testing of fire alarms in 12 buildings are scheduled on Saturday, March 7, from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Loud horns and strobe lights will be activated for 10 minutes at the start of testing in each building.
Tests will be conducted in:
College of Education and Integrative Studies (Building 6)
College of Environmental Design (Building 7)
Art Department and Engineering Annex (Building 13)
Buildings 13B-D (Army ROTC and Pre-College TRIO Programs)
Buildings 24A-E (temporary classrooms)
Drama Department/Theatre (Building 25)
Reason for disruption: Allow the university to conduct state-mandated annual testing of the fire alarm system in each building.
How does this affect me? Loud horns and flashing strobe lights will be activated during the start of testing. Silent testing of the system also will be conducted afterward. The HVAC system in each building will undergo interruptions during testing.
What do I need to do? Avoid being in the buildings during testing. Please share this information with others who may have not received this message.
