Mandated State Testing of Fire Alarm Systems at Four Buildings Scheduled on Thursday, July 25

Summary of disruption: Four buildings will undergo state-mandated testing of fire alarm systems starting at 5 a.m. on Thursday, July 25. Testing is expected to be completed by 8 a.m.

The affected buildings are:

Science Laboratory (Building 3)

College of Science Administration (Building 8)

W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center (Building 29)

Apparel Merchandising and Management (Building 45)

Reason for disruption: Comply with state laws and ensure that fire alarms and strobe lights are working properly.

How does this affect me? Horns and strobe lights may be activated during the initial early morning testing, then alarms will be tested on silent mode. HVAC systems may be temporarily shut down during tests. Elevators will not be affected.

What do I need to do? If fire alarms are heard after the scheduled morning testing period, evacuate the building. Please share this information with others in the buildings who may have not received this message.
