Fire Alarm and Sprinkler Testing Scheduled in Four Buildings on Friday, July 22

Summary of disruption: State-mandated annual fire alarm and sprinkler inspections and certification testing are scheduled in four buildings starting at 5 a.m. on Friday, July 22. Audible alarm testing will be conducted from 5 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and silent alarm tests will commence at 8 a.m. per building schedule (see below).  

Testing times and the affected buildings are:

W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center (Building 29) starting at 8 a.m.

Darlene May Gymnasium (Building 41) beginning at 9 a.m.

Kellogg Arena (Building 43) starting at 11 a.m.

Apparel Merchandising and Management (Building 45) beginning at 1 p.m.

Reason for disruption: Comply with state laws and ensure that fire sprinklers, alarms and strobe lights are working properly.

How does this affect me? Audible alarm and strobe lights testing in the buildings is scheduled from 5 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Elevators will not be in service during the audible tests. Afterward, silent testing of alarm equipment and sprinklers will be conducted with minimal impact to occupants.
