Facilities Management and Water Treatment Plant to Undergo Fire Alarm Testing Starting at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5
Summary of disruption: State-mandated testing of fire alarm systems is scheduled at Facilities Management (Building 81) and the Water Treatment Plant (Building 27) starting at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Testing is expected to be completed by 2:30 p.m.
Reason for disruption: Comply with state laws and ensure that fire alarms and strobe lights are working properly.
How does this affect me? Horns and strobe lights will be activated from 6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Silent testing of alarms starts at 7:45 a.m. The HVAC system will be temporarily shut down during testing.
What do I need to do? Avoid being in the building during audible testing. If fire alarms are heard after the scheduled testing period, evacuate the building. Please share this information with others in the buildings who may have not received this message.
