Mandated Fire Alarm System Testing Scheduled at Three Buildings on Monday, July 29

Summary of disruption: Three buildings will undergo state-mandated testing of fire alarm systems starting at 5 a.m. on Monday, July 29. Testing is expected to be completed by 8 a.m.

The affected buildings are:

Biotechnology Building (Building 4)

Parking Structure 2 (Building 107)

Police and Parking Services (Building 109)

Reason for disruption: Comply with state laws and ensure that fire alarms and strobe lights are working properly.

How does this affect me? Horns and strobe lights may be activated during the initial early morning testing, then alarms will be tested on silent mode. HVAC systems may be temporarily shut down during tests. Elevators will not be affected.

What do I need to do? If fire alarms are heard after the scheduled morning testing period, evacuate the building. Please share this information with others in the buildings who may have not received this message.
