Five Buildings to Undergo Testing of Fire Alarm Systems on Wednesday, July 24

Summary of disruption: State-mandated testing of the fire alarm systems at five buildings will at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24. Testing is expected to be completed by 8 a.m.

 

The affected buildings are:

CLA Classroom (Building 98C)

College of Business Administration (Buildings 162, 163 and 164)

Chilled Water Plant (Building 193)   

 

Reason for disruption: Comply with state laws and ensure that fire alarms and strobe lights are working properly.  

How does this affect me? Horns and strobe lights may be activated during the initial early morning testing, then alarms will be tested on silent mode. HVAC systems may be temporarily shut down during tests. Elevators will not be affected. 

What do I need to do? If fire alarms are heard after the scheduled morning testing period, evacuate the building. Please share this information with others in the buildings who may have not received this message.
