Elevator Smoke Alarm Tests Scheduled in Six Buildings Starting on Tuesday, Nov. 3
Summary of disruption: State fire inspectors will test the smoke alarms in elevators at six buildings on Tuesday, Nov. 3 and Wednesday, Nov. 4. Tests will be performed both days from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Smoke alarm testing of elevators is scheduled in:
College of Environmental Design (Building 7)
Art Department and Engineering Annex (Building 13)
Parking Structure 2 (Building 107)
Student Services Building (Building 121)
College of Business Administration (Buildings 163 and 164)
Reason for disruption: Allow the university to conduct state-mandated annual testing of the fire alarm system in the elevators.
How does this affect me? Elevators will not be operational during testing. The HVAC system will undergo interruptions. Horns and flashing strobe lights are not expected to be triggered during tests.
