Campus Community Urged to Reduce Water Usage Starting on Friday, March 22 Because of MWD Feeder Line Repairs
Summary of disruptions: The Metropolitan Water District (MWD) will perform maintenance and repairs on a feeder line starting on Friday, March 22 that will reduce the water supply to Cal Poly Pomona. The campus community is urged to conserve water while repairs are being performed. The MWD expects the work to be completed by Thursday, March 28.
Reasons for disruption: The feeder line provides supplemental water to augment campus water operations. The repair work will lessen the amount of water available to the campus. The chief operator of campus water operations will monitor usage during the shutdown period.
How does this affect me? Cut back on water usage during the shutdown to help lower the campus water demand that will minimize the drawdown on limited groundwater supplies.
What do I need to do? Reduce water usage and share this information with others who may have not received this message.
