Four Buildings to Undergo Fire Alarm and Sprinkler Testing on Tuesday, July 19
Summary of disruption: State-mandated annual fire alarm and sprinkler inspections and certification testing are scheduled in four buildings starting at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19. Audible alarm testing will be conducted until 7:30 a.m. and silent alarm tests will commence at 8 a.m. Inspections and testing are expected to be completed in the afternoon.
Testing times and the affected buildings are:
College of Science (Building 8) starting at 8 a.m.
Rose Float Lab (Building 105) beginning at 10 a.m.
College of Engineering (Building 9) starting at noon
Parking Structure 1 (Building 106) starting at 1 p.m.
Reason for disruption: Comply with state laws and ensure that fire sprinklers, alarms and strobe lights are working properly.
How does this affect me? Audible alarm testing in the buildings is scheduled from 5 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Afterward, silent testing of alarms and strobe lights will be conducted. Elevators will not be in service during the tests.
