16 Buildings to Undergo Electrical Interruptions on Saturday, March 19

Summary of disruption: The Electrical Infrastructure Upgrade (EIU) Project contractor will interrupt power to 16 buildings and lighting to a parking lot starting at 4 a.m. on Saturday, March 19. Campus electrical crews will be on standby to restore power.

The times of the power interruption and affected buildings and parking lot are:

4 a.m. to 8 a.m.

Residential Suites (Building 54)

Foundation Administrative Offices (Building 55)

Centerpointe Dining (Building 72)

Sicomoro Hall (Building 73)

Secoya Hall (Building 74)

5 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Encinitas Residence Hall (Building 20)

Montecito Residence Hall (Building 21)

Alamitos Residence Hall (Building 22)

Aliso Residence Hall (Building 23)

Palmitas Residence Hall (Building 57)

Cedritos Residence Hall (Building 58)

La Cienega Center (Building 59)

Los Olivos Commons (Building 70)

Recreation/Maintenance (Building 71)

IT Operations (Building 91)

Lighting in Parking Lot F

6 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Student Services Building (Building 121)

Reason for disruption: Allow contractor crews to initiate electrical loop tie-ins to the new campus electrical system.     

How does this affect me? Avoid being on campus during the power interruption.  

What do I need to do? Turn off lights, computers and other electronic equipment before leaving offices and workspaces on Friday, March 18. Please share this information with others in the buildings who may have not received this message.
