Faculty members that possess industry knowledge set a standard for emerging hospitality leaders from The Collins College of Hospitality Management. Ann Lara helps students as a career services coordinator for The Collins College and was recently awarded a faculty scholarship to attend the PCMA’s annual Convening Leaders conference.
“Event planning is always a strong interest for our hospitality students,” Lara said. “Having the knowledge and background to be able to assist them would not only make my job easier, it would help me set them on the right career path.”
The Professional Convention Management Association’s 2020 Convening Leaders Conference took place in San Francisco and educated its attendees in ways to reach professional success with wider audiences in events and services.
According to Lara, San Francisco has the largest concentration of Collins College alumni outside of Los Angeles, so while on her trip, she also connected with former students.
“I am so honored to have been chosen as the Faculty Scholarship recipient for PCMA 2020 conference in San Francisco,” Lara said. “The conference was one of the best I have ever attended, and I can't wait to share all I learned with the students.”
