A group of students along with Career Services Coordinator, Ann Lara had a great week in LA attending the Voices Carry CalTravel Summit 2019.
The agenda was jam-packed with tours, speakers and even time with the Vice President and Market General Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles; The JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE, Mr. Javier Cano, who is also a Collins College Board member. They even ran into some friends from the Experience Industry Management department at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
One of the major highlights was that the California Travel Association 2019 scholarship program elected Collins College student Sean Mayor, as a 2019 Scholarship Award Recipient.
"Experiencing this conference and connecting with individuals who have devoted their lives into benefiting tourism and travel was a huge honor," Mayor said. "The entire event left me motivated towards making a positive impact on tourism, whether that is to provide aid towards our homeless crisis, reduce our carbon footprint or create a positive environment for both hospitality workers and guests."
