Outreach Event Draws 470 High School Students
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May 6, 2014
The Collins College is partnering with the CSU Hospitality Management Education Initiative and the California Restaurant Association Educational Foundation to host 470 high school students at Experience Hospitality on May 13. The day will be based at the Anaheim Hilton and include tours of numerous hospitality venues in the area, including the convention center and Disneyland Hotel. Faculty, staff, alumni and industry partners are invited to attend a networking lunch that day from noon-1:30 p.m.
This is the first leadership summit of its kind in Orange County bringing together aspiring young students, the hospitality industry and partners in higher education. More than 450 Southern California high school students will participate in this half-day event featuring industry speakers, tours of hospitality venues in Anaheim and a networking lunch. Students will also receive information on the California State University, community colleges and financial aid.
The purpose of the event is to increase high school students’ exposure to the hospitality industry and provide them with resources to take the next step towards college and career. This outreach event is modeled after successful events in Los Angeles, San Jose and San Diego.
The event is sponsored by California Community Colleges and the Anaheim Hilton.
