Theatre and New Dance Department Open Position

Faculty Position Announcement: Part-Time/Temporary Lecturers

College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences

The Department of Theatre and New Dance at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) invites lecturers to become members of our part-time temporary lecturers pool. We are an undergraduate B.A. program offering a learn-by doing approach aligned with the mission of our highly diverse University.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.A. or B.F.A. in area of teaching interest, (required by date of application)
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting student success and the educational goals of the program

Preferred/Desired Qualifications

  • M.A., M.F.A. and/or Ph.D. in Theatre, Dance or area of teaching interest
  • University teaching experience

Appointments

Part-time, temporary lecturer appointments are usually made for one academic semester (approximately 16 weeks) at fractions usually ranging from 3/15 to 12/15 of full-time; multiple semester appointments are possible. Incumbents may be reappointed to subsequent quarters contingent upon funding and favorable performance evaluations.

Placement into a range is based on qualifications and experience. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.

  • three recent (dated within the past two years and at least one written within 12 months of the application) letters of reference;
  • an official transcript (“Issued to Student” is not considered an official transcript) from an accredited educational institution showing highest degree earned.
