Advising Center Appoints a New Student Veteran Ambassador
Air Force Reserve and Spanish major, Alexandra Jacome has recently been appointed to the new role of Student Veteran Ambassador for the C.L.A.S.S. Academic Advising Center.
As the Student Veteran Ambassador, Jacome will be a liaison between C.L.A.S.S. student-veterans and the university. Her duties will include: discussing available veteran-specific services and academic programs, providing referrals to campus and community programs and services, assisting with navigating campus policies and procedures, and leading workshops and discussion groups. The goal is for student-veterans to see Jacome as a source of information, support, and guidance.
Jacome, along with the Veterans Resource Center and the C.L.A.S.S. Advising Center, recently hosted a Student-Veteran and Faculty Mixer in building 5. The well-attended mixer allowed for faculty and student-veterans to network among one another, and provided valuable information about the services and programs available through the Veterans Resource Center and C.L.A.S.S.
