Success on Your Own Terms
The transition into college and the quarter system can be a difficult hurdle to overcome. Nicole Duong began her collage career as a student who was working 70-80 hours a week. By the end her first year, she found herself on academic probation and without financial aid. As a result, she began to reflect on the changes she needed to make in order to turn this around. She cut down her work hours, turned to campus resources, and ultimately, made a complete shift in her college career. In the end, Duong went from a GPA of 1.6 to graduating with honors. She hopes to inspire students with her success story of graduating with honors and finding the right work-life balance.
She will be discussing the resources she used to reach her goal at an upcoming talk on Tuesday, January 12 from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm in Building 5, room 214.
