EFL Professor Brian Stone spends the summer researching in Ireland

Dr. Brian Stone recently returned from a summer research trip in Ireland, where he took up two visiting researcher fellowship opportunities. The first was at the National University of Ireland Galway's Moore Institute for Research in the Humanities and Social Studies, while the second was at the An Foras Feasa Research Institute for the Humanities at Maynooth University in Maynooth, Ireland.

While there, Dr. Stone carried out research for his book-length study on the rhetorical arts in early medieval Ireland and traveled to several historical sites associated with his research. He also began collecting data for a study on the role of writing and social media in Irish language (Gaeilge) revitalization efforts.
