Undergraduate Sarah Gharibian Presents Her Research

Congratulations to English Education major Sarah Gharibian, who presented her research, “Employing Hip Hop and Rap to Bridge the Culture Gap in Pedagogy and Create Learning Accessible Curriculum,” at CPP’s Creative Activities and Research Symposium on August 16, 2017.

Gharibian also brought that research to the Naylor Workshop for Undergraduate Writing Studies from September 15-17, 2017, at York College in Pennsylvania. There, she received research mentoring and participated in sessions on conducting quantitative and qualitative research, writing literature reviews, and seeking IRB approval for research. The Naylor Workshop concluded with a poster session, during which Gharibian presented her hip hop and rap pedagogy project and her plans for future work.

Gharibian thanks the Irvin S. Naylor Family Foundation, Dr. Dominic DelliCarpini of York College, her workshop mentor Dr. Michelle Stuckey of Arizona State University, and Dr. Jessie Moore of Elon University.
