EFL student presents her research at AATSP conference
On April 25, 2015, senior Cynthia Cea (Spanish) presented her research at the Spring conference of the AATSP-SoCal (American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese- Southern California Chapter). In her paper, “El contacto del dialecto salvadoreño con el español vernáculo de Los Angeles,” Cea examined the effects of dialect contact in Los Angeles. EFL faculty member Amàlia Llombart mentored Cynthia Cea during her research, and introduced her work to the audience. The presentation was a complete success and it sparked great interest and many questions, as well as words of praise, from the many professors sitting in the audience. Cynthia Cea has recently been accepted in the graduate program in Hispanic Studies at UC Riverside to begin in Fall 2015.
