Course Prepares Students for Summer Work as English Tutors

Spring Quarter 2015: ENG 209-01 (#34710/ T/TH, 3-4:50 PM)—Practicum in Tutoring English is a hybrid course that trains students to tutor writing in both face-to-face and online situations. Students will be introduced to current tutoring theory and pedagogy in addition to receiving hands-on training in how to tutor someone in writing. ENG 209—Practicum in Tutoring English is a practical course that prepares students for immediate employment as a writing tutor.  Students who successfully complete the course will be recommended for a very flexible, work-from-home, set-your-own-hours summer online tutoring job offered through Cal Poly Pomona’s EFL department.
