Dr. Dewey Hall Revisits the Elgin Marbles at the University of Bristol
August 2, 2024
This fall semester, Dr. Dewey Hall will be a visiting researcher at the University of Bristol, UK, presenting his work on the geology, quarrying, and provenance of the Elgin marbles. He will discuss the impact of the artifacts during the 1810s on writers and artists including John Keats, Lord Byron, and Benjamin Robert Haydon.
Read more about Hall’s research and the talks he will be giving in September and October on the University of Bristol’s International Research Development website. We are excited for his travels and look forward to learning more about them when he returns after sabbatical!
