Daniel Peña: Young Latino/a/x Writers Series

Daniel Peña is a Pushcart Prize winning writer, book reviewer, and professor whose work can be seen in the Guardian, NBC News, the Rumpus, Ploughshares, and Gulf Coast among other outlets. His debut novel, Bang (Arte Publico Press), was the recipient of the 2019 NACCS Tejas Foco Award.

A graduate of Cornell University and a Fulbright-Garcia Robles Scholar, he served as Picador Guest Professor at Universität Leipzig in Leipzig, Germany. He’s currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Houston-Downtown.

Peña will give a talk, read from his novel, and answer student questions. Drs. Nancy Quintanilla and Alvaro Huerta will serve as panel discussants. This event is co-sponsored by The César E. Chávez Center.
