Join us for a conversation and Q&A with Mexican-American director, dramaturg, and theatre artist Melanie Queponds about directing bilingual theatre in California.
The talk will delve into the implications of directing bilingual theater, language justice, and dramaturgy. Queponds is currently directing Tanya Saracho's El Nogalar at CPP, which will run April 21–30 (get tickets here). At Riverside, she recently directed Women and Servants, by Lope de Vega. Both performances featured Spanish, English, and Spanglish speeches delivered by actors.
