Liberal Studies Professor Presents Solo Exhibition at Blaffer Art Museum

Blaffer Art Museum in Houston, Texas is currently hosting Assistant Professor Maya Stovall’s solo exhibition “Razón/Reason” until March 13 as a part of her artist residency with the University of Houston’s Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts. The exhibition is a community-based, collaborative research project that explores the historical and political climate of Houston with participation from students, faculty, La Raza Unida Party and MAYO co-founder Dr. Jose Angel Gutierrez, local community members, and Stovall’s office of undergraduate research RIO fellows, Jennifer Avila, visual communication design major, and Kathleen Ramírez, liberal studies major. Stovall’s exhibition will also include a neon art commission and a performance commission on March 10 titled “Theorem, no. 2.” For more information, visit Blaffer Art Museum’s website.
