The College of Education and Integrative Studies (CEIS) hosted its Spring Open House on April 15 to welcome newly admitted and incoming students to the campus community.

The Spring Open House event allows prospective students and their parents to speak with faculty, staff and current students about academic programming and student engagement opportunities.

This year, CEIS held various activities including games, raffles, tours and panel presentations featuring department chairs, faculty, staff and current students.  College and departmental tables were set up on the quad, which offered visitors the opportunity to connect one on one.

Following presentations from faculty and college advisors, current students presented information on student clubs and their unique experiences in CEIS. The student participants included liberal studies students Monica Macias, Rachel Kim, Jazmyn Franco, Miranda Ibarra, Allison Greene and Leyla Sosa; early childhood studies students Jessica Huh, Oscar Castillo, Martha Manzo and Yvette Perez; Interdisciplinary General Education (IGE) students Ali Abdul Mateen-El, Antonette Alexis Tacadena and Manji Hui; and credential students Eliana Rodriguez, Alison Sisco and Taylor Corcoran.

“CEIS faculty, staff and student volunteers came together to make our Open House event a success,” said CEIS Associate Dean Joanne Van Boxtel. “We had a record number of students and guests registered this year at over 300! I observed a lot of enthusiasm and excitement from students and families as they stopped by our booths to learn more about our programs and while attending the CEIS presentation. A huge shout out to all who were involved in the planning and preparation, and especially to those who served at Open House to inform and welcome future Broncos and their guests!”
