IGESO
The Interdisciplinary General Education Student Organization (IGESO) is an organization created by IGE students for IGE students. The mascot is a platypus named Leonardo, after the polymath Leonardo Da Vinci. Leonardo the platypus symbolizes the interweaving of disciplines between the arts and sciences.
IGESO hosts social events throughout the year, including Pizza Before the Play and the Act Variety Shows. Pizza Before the Play is the first social of the year, where IGE students meet other students in the program and get free refreshments before the Fall theater arts event. The Act Variety Show is a Spring arts event held in Ursa Major in the Bronco Student Center for IGE students to showcase their performing, visual, and other artistic talents. Throughout the year, there are other various activities, such as Interactive Sessions, where IGE students can meet and relax with other students on Tuesdays during U-Hour, and quarterly movie nights. IGESO also initiated the presentation of IGE commencement tassels, which are given to students as they complete the IGE program. These tassels signify the work that students put into the program. IGESO continues to expand and create new and different activities for IGE students. If you are interested in getting involved, please email the IGESO officers: Ali Abdul Mateen-El (abdulali@cpp.edu) and Jonathon Corbridge (jkcorbdidge@cpp.edu). The faculty advisor is Dr. Kenneth Stahl.
