College Adds Two Staffers to Support Student Success

The Huntley College of Agriculture has added two new employees to help students achieve academic and professional success.
Stephanie Smith was hired as the college’s new retention and graduation specialist to advise pledge students, at-risk students, and freshman and sophomore students in apparel merchandising and management.
She has worked as a graduation specialist for the College of Engineering at Cal State Long Beach and the College of the Arts at Cal State Fullerton; a senior matriculation specialist at Irvine Valley College; and an advisor for pre-licensure nursing programs at Cal State Fullerton’s School of Nursing.
Smith earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Biola University in La Mirada and her master’s degree in college counseling and student development at Azusa Pacific University.
She will work in the Student Success Center on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursday mornings, and in 45-253 on Wednesdays, Thursday afternoons, and Fridays.
Her experience includes working as a career guidance counselor assistant in the Guardian Scholars program at West Los Angeles College and as a lead facilitator of the Guardian Scholars at Los Angeles Trade Technical College.
Jordan earned her associate’s degree in social behavioral science from Mt. San Jacinto College; her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Cal State San Bernardino; and her master's degree in counseling with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy from the University of Phoenix. She is also an associate marriage and family therapist.
She will work in the Student Success Center on Wednesdays, Thursday afternoons, and Fridays. Jordan will be in the Career Center on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursday mornings.
